3. Garden Concept Plan

Setting The Scene

We then assist you in choosing complimentary colours for example for retaining walls or perhaps we’ll look to include some beautiful clay paver setts. We like to focus on textural details and this can really help break up an area of hard landscaping. As we always say, ‘The Design is in the Detail’. We’ll send you some provisional mood boards with options included for your consideration. We can then source samples or make arrangements for you to view the options in person either at a show room or sometimes to a previous clients garden.

We will discuss the advantages and drawbacks of different finishes and products, allowing you to make a clear and informed choice.

Other elements to finalise at this stage may include a water feature or pergola. What length will an overhang be? Which colour? How thick will the wood be? Which grade of wood? How tall will the structure be? We will draw up Design Intention Drawings to cover these details for your approval. You can be confident that we will take care of all of the intricate details to ensure the all the features and fittings will be in keeping with the style of your dream garden.

Initial Garden Drawings

During The Concept Plan phase, the real design work begins. This is a really exciting phase in which we will portray the overall garden layout using our Computer Aided Design packages to enable clear 3D visualisation.

Getting the flow of the space right for your needs is crucial. We consider all details, from vistas, the location of features and focal points, to how the eye is drawn and how the foot follows.

Details such as step heights, path widths, where shadows are just a few of the many considerations that we take to develop a beautiful yet practical garden.

In our view, a garden should persuade all visitors to just take one more step; they should intrigue you into the garden and delight you with hidden treasures. We aim to incorporate a ‘Conceal and Reveal’ mantra into all of our designs and our garden drawings show exactly how this will happen.

No matter the style, the basic framework of a space dictates how the area is used and also sets the tone for the hard landscaping details to result in a beautiful landscape. We make good use of imagery at this stage to ensure our vision matches your taste.

We will go through the Concept together allowing you the time to reflect on how your new garden will look. Once this has been approved by you, we will then focus on the details of the design.
